The Emotion Code®
What is The Emotion Code®?
The Emotion Code® is a simple energy-healing method designed to identify and release what are described as “trapped emotions” - emotional energy that can remain from experiences we’ve had throughout our lives.
It’s not necessarily the event itself that continues to affect us, but the emotions we experienced in response to it. We can experience any number of emotions during an event, and sometimes those emotions can remain with us long after the situation has passed.
These emotions don’t have to come from something significant or traumatic, and we may not even consciously be aware that we’re still carrying them, yet they can influence the way we think, feel and respond to life. They can sometimes create patterns that keep us stuck without fully understanding why.
The Emotion Code® aims to help you let go of these emotional patterns, so you can feel lighter, more balanced and freer to move forward.
How negative emotions affect us
Trapped emotions can affect us in many different ways, and the connection isn’t always obvious. They may be associated with things such as anxiety, fears and phobias, low confidence or self-esteem, self-sabotage, difficulty letting go of the past, relationship difficulties, or emotional reactions that seem stronger than the situation warrants.
They can also be experienced alongside physical symptoms such as tension, discomfort, stress, headaches, fatigue, digestive issues or other symptoms that don’t seem to have an obvious emotional cause.
They may influence how you think, the choices you make, how you react to certain people or situations, and the habits or behaviours you find yourself repeating, keeping you stuck in old patterns.
Our heart-protector
One of the concepts within The Emotion Code® is the “Heart-Wall” - a protective barrier that can form around the heart in response to emotional experiences.
This “wall” is thought to be the subconscious mind’s way of protecting us from further emotional pain, but while it may have served a purpose at the time, it can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected, guarded or unable to fully open up to others.
Releasing these trapped emotions may help you feel more open, connected and able to experience relationships and life with greater ease.
How does a session work?
Sessions can take place in person, by video call (WhatsApp or FaceTime), by phone or remotely. For in-person, online and phone sessions, we work together in real time. Remote sessions are different - you don’t need to be present while I carry out the session, so I can work on your session when it fits my schedule and send you a summary of the emotions released afterwards.
One of the things clients often appreciate about The Emotion Code® is that you don’t need to share personal stories or talk through painful experiences. There’s no need to re-live difficult memories or explain everything that has happened. Instead, we focus on the emotions themselves, with the process unfolding naturally as we work.
For your first session, we’ll have a brief chat about what you’d like to work on and I’ll give you a short introduction to how the process works. I’ll then explain things as we go along and send you the session notes afterwards.
Remote sessions are usually completed within 1–2 days of payment, and I’ll send you a summary afterwards of the emotions released during your session.
It’s not just for humans…
Animals can experience emotional stress too, and The Emotion Code can be used to help with emotional or behavioural difficulties. I work with dogs, cats, horses and other animals.
